FIN-330 04021 Corporate Finance
In this Corporate Finance course, I am learning how to find the appropriate Hurdle Rate for a company. Moreover, I am learning how to analyze a company's Corporate Governance, Cost of Debt, Cost of Equity, and Cost of Capital in order to determine their current financial position, and how they can improve that position moving forward. This is helpful because, for example, the Hurdle Rate can help businesses determine which projects they should/shouldn't invest in.
ACC-308 08071 Intermediate Acct II
In this Intermediate Accounting course, I learned how to properly record the purchasing of an asset, how to depreciate using different methods, how to record various investments, and how to handle Operating Leases. Ultimately, this class was useful to me because it helped me know the rules behind complex transactions, and how to access a company's financial performance.
ACC-330 01083 Federal Taxation I
In this Federal Taxation course, I learned when to properly file different tax forms, the tax laws behind different types of firms, how to file a tax return, and what happens if you don't file your tax return. This class was helpful to me because it allowed me the knowledge necessary to fill out my own personal tax return, and prepared me for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.
FIN-305 09013 Foundations of Finance
In this Foundations of Finance course, I learned how to use the Time Value of Money concept to calculate both the Present Value and Future Value of a security, how to value bonds using Yield To Maturity, and how to evaluate stocks as well as Net Present Value and Internal Rate of Return. This information will be useful to me if I ever take out a loan, or want to know the current value of a future financial project.
ACC-205 06009 Foundations of Accounting II
In this Foundations of Accounting course, I learned how to calculate various Break Even numbers, Margins of Safety, as well as Target Net Incomes. In the future, this class will help me by providing me with the skills necessary to predict the impact of financial decisions made within the context of Managerial Accounting.
ACC-307 05012 Intermediate Acct I
In this Intermediate Accounting course, I learned the difference between Cash and Accrual Accounting, and how Generally Accepted Accounting Principles treats both. Also, I learned how to prepare a Classified Balance Sheet, a Multi-Step Income Statement, and a Statement of Cash Flows. Undoubtedly, this will help me in an Accounts Receivable Clerk role, by allowing me to properly prepare financial statements for a company.
ACC-105 08006 Foundations of Accounting I
In this Foundations of Accounting course, I learned how to prepare basic financial statements such as Income Satements, and Balance Sheets. Moving forward, this will help me by allowing me to interpret the basic financial standing of companies I wish to invest in, and understand more complex accounting concepts easier.
ACC-215 05006 Fundamentals of Financial Acct
In this Funamentals of Financial Accounting course, I learned how Debits and Credits, Bank Reconcilliations, Bad Debts, and Inventory works. This will help me in the future by allowing me to charge accounts correctly and track the status of various accounts in order to assure Faithful Representation in accordance with GAAP.
